We're fresh back from a wonderful weekend in Laguna at Tely & Joe's treehouse!

We spent the day on the beach making sand pools, eating yummy snacks, walking the tide pools, sipping sangria, blowing bubbles & enjoying the 4th. I even spotted Kevin Bacon as he strolled hand in hand with his wife Kara Sedgwick, they strolled right along the shore where Milo and I were building a sand castle they were smiling right at my little man. Kinda cool...... huh! We were on a beautiful semi private beach in laguna..... of course a celebrity couple would grace us with their presence.....right?

After a wonderful day on the shore we headed up the hill to the house. I have to tell you what a little trooper Milo was. He played all day and missed his regular nap time so on the way up the hill from the beach at about 4pm he was riding on Lorin's shoulders only wearing a towel and his hat and he fell asleep. When we got back to the house Milo took a nice peaceful nap in the loft office and we all got ready for the guests to arrive. A few close friends spent the evening with us and Milo enjoyed the party when he got up from his nap.

At 9pm we walked down to the end of the street where we were able to watch the fireworks from Laguna, Dana Point, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Aliso Viejo & off some boats way out in the ocean. It was literally the best seat in the house cause you could see everything but not be down in the crowds and chaos. Milo sorta enjoyed the fireworks although he's been a little traumatized by a loud one that Daddy set off the night before...... oops! After the Fireworks we all headed back to the house to say good bye to visitors and hit the hay under the stars. The windows in the living room where Lorin and I slept are so big and you could see the big huge bright moon, stars and a very bright planet (venus I think) shining down on us. Milo slept in his pack n play right next to us and bling bling slept curled at our feet after she snugged with Tely & Joe for a little while of course. All was peaceful and happy. Can you tell I had a wonderful time? but wait there's more.............

Something I had been looking forward to was waking up in the morning and drinking coffee on the deck. There's just so much nature around the house it feels like vacation. Milo & I were up with the sun at 6:30 we tried to be quiet but we got Tely up and went for a stroll around the neighborhood with Bling Bling. Came back to the house for breakfast. Then I got a call from Nana & Papa who said they were on a coast ride and wanted to meet us in Laguna. We sent them up the hill to the house where they got to hang out and enjoy the beauty. It was perfect. Tely & Joe are such awesome hosts. What a way to celebrate the 4th. Family, Friends & Freedom. God bless the USA! Now I'm home and the boys are napping. I'm feeling kinda blessed.

this weekend milo turns 23 months! i have a lump in my throat just writing that. it's such a funny thing cause i'm so scared i'm going to miss my baby. but at the same time i'm quite excited and eager to watch what a little boy he's becoming.

i just finished weeding out clothes and toys that he's outgrown. whoa...that's a hard thing to do. i've grown kinda attached to some of his things. as hard as it is.... i always feel better when i do it and it makes room for the little boy that is growing right now as i type.

*** he did a swim lesson today and he floated!!!!! AMAZING!

in effort to blow away milo's cold with saltwater air, we took a short trip down to balboa for a ferry ride.  he loved riding on the big ferry.  on our trip to the island we had the whole ferry to ourselves.  on the way back we shared the ferry with 3 cars which was kinda cool.  now go away darn cold!

1st trip to Disneyland

oops! his 1st ride was Pirates of the Caribbean...... it scared the you know what out of him.  :(  i felt like the worst mom in the world.  in my defense i have not been to Disney since i was a teenager and never thought about how frightening this would be through the eyes of a toddler.  he rode on lorin's lap and kept saying, "i scared."  now if you say anything about pirates he says, "no like, i scared."  kinda funny and sad at the same time.

any trauma cause by the pirates was soon washed away by his favorite ride THE TEACUPS!!! he went on with tely and me and we screamed and laughed the whole time.

toontown!  this was a great place to hang out while all the rides were shut down for about 30 minutes because of an earthquake!  gotta love california!

THE GRAND FINALE!!!!  it's A SMALL WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!    the best ride ever!   we hit it at just the right time (during a parade) and were able to go on 2 times in a row.

this post hardly does our magical day justice.  tely made an amazing video of our day and i've been trying to figure out how to share with you all.  we were at the park from 11am-8-30pm..... it was a long full day and wonderful family time.

i forget you have not always been this 22 month old little boy.  seems like you were just a little baby..... but i can't imagine you any different then you are right now in this moment.

tonight when i came downstairs in a sundress you ran up to me pointing at my dress and yelled, "that's cute!"  i had to look at your dad to see if i heard you right.  laughed my booty off.  thanks for noticing my cuteness.

swim lessons

he's not really enjoying them... yet!  today was his 1st private swim lesson.  he was not happy at first and not really happy the whole way through but he eventually just went with the flow and even floated all by himself for a few seconds.  after the lesson he took a 3 1/2 hour nap.  i'm happy to say that when he got up form his nap he was ready to go in the pool with his neighborhood buddies. so back to the water we went.
