9 months in, 9 months out...............

it feels like forever and it feels so new. such an amazing feeling to watch this little guy grow! we are constantly in awe of him. so much happiness and so much love.

we enjoyed the sunshine this weekend. the fresh air, beautiful blue sky and milo's face in the outdoor bath were medicine for my heart.

i feel strange not saying anything about this. i can't just keep posting all the sweet happy things that have been going on lately without pausing to remember an old friend who passed away this week. the girls in this picture were some of my bestest friends in high school. we have not all kept in touch on a continual basis but through each other we have kept up with the latest events in each others lives. the picture above is morgan, amy, me & chrissie this was taken 4 years ago at a surprise party for chrissie. i got the tragic news this week that amy has passed away. it was sudden and shocking and we are still waiting for answers... that we may never get. even though we have not talked in a year it has been painful to know that she is gone. sadly she leaves behind 3 beautiful children and lots of family and friends (morgan & chrissie) were still very very close to amy. since i have received the news i keep playing and replaying the slide shows in my head of my early teenage years with amy. i will always remember her as loving. spiritual, funny, nurturing, intelligent (always full of crazy off beat information) and loyal. we always had so much fun together..... all of us. when we were all close we were like family. i'm sad i will never get to say that to her. sad that all this time has gone by and it takes this horrible event that is so final to actually realize how precious old friendships are. i am positive that she is in heaven now and we are the ones left here grieving the loss of such a beautiful soul. the tragedy is too much to comprehend i can't even imagine how the children and her close circle are feeling. please pray for them.

bling turns 4 today. we can't even remember our lives before bling came. she is such a special spirit..... we even love that she's crazy!

POP-sicle

so when pop stopped by the office to visit milo last week he exercised his "grandparent rights". he took milo on a walk and came back with a POPSICLE. i have to admit, as much as i'm against sugar for my baby...... it was pretty darn cute to see them sharing a popsicle. plus i was out numbered by moppa and pop..... who both agree about "grandparents rights". i've heard about this from other moms...... apparently it's a thing!

i must live my whole life in constant disbelief....... cause i can't BELIEVE my baby is already 8 months! yep... today is milo's 8 month b-day. in celebration of numero ocho...... i took milo on a carousel ride at fashion island. he LOVED it. it was almost like he knew he was 8 months... he looked all round as the pony went up and down.... smiling and proud of his achievements.

easter fun!

we had a really funny sunny easter weekend! it took me awhile to accept how early easter came this year. i can still hardly believe that it has already come and gone........ helllllllllloooooo people...... it's still march!!!! somehow i managed to pull it together and actually do lots of activities with the family. on friday milo and i attended a good friday gathering at the irvine amphitheater with some of our friends. we had a fun little picnic and milo almost rolled down the grassy hill.... along with a few other babies. it was pretty funny! i don't remember the grass being so steep. saturday i assisted reem with a
silk painting class..... it's a great way to spend the day with girlfriends. saturday afternoon i took milo to see the freaky easter bunny and then we stopped by the bay club to visit moppa and jim. moppa and jim were so happy to see milo and introduce him to some of their friends. i should mention..... while i was running around town.... lorin was doing projects around the house. the project that i'm the most excited about is our new hide-away screen door. yay! it looks sooooo nice and we really needed it. good job daddy! maybe we won't have to encounter anymore scary creatures like the one we removed from the house saturday morning and hopefully i won't come face to face with a treacherous snake/lizard ever again. on easter we went to church and out to nana and papa's house for a big easter egg hunt. lot's of food and lot's of laughing........ laughing at me...... some people were giving me a hard time for being an over protective mommy. i guess one day i'll be the one snickering as some new mommy tries to protect her precious precious from every little thing that may come their way....... big sigh..... but right now i'm still that new mommy. oooops..... i rambled. whatever!

they weren't lying when they said, "IT TAKES A VILLAGE to raise a child"!!!!! i don't know who "they" are but IT'S TRUE!!!!! i don't know where i'd be without the help of my village. the last few months have been very hard on me with how busy i am with work and how busy having a baby/family makes me. i thank GOD that i have an awesome family (on both sides) that has come to the rescue to help. not only does it help giving me some time to get things done..... it's great knowing milo is with people who absolutely adore him. here's some fun with the "village"........ ha ha!

take your baby to work day (oh wait.... that's everyday) i took milo to LA with me this weekend. we had a great time and he was a well behaved little man. i brought him because i needed a good luck charm....... and it worked. must be the luck of the IRISH! :) he even got a shout out from amy tangerine for wearing one of her delicious tee's........ of course we had to get some more and one for me too!

riley turned 1! go riley go! these boys are going to be such little buddies. milo gave riley a big bday kiss! i'm really glad they're so close in age. renee has been such a huge support in my mommy metamorphose.

7 months is so awesome! only the tiniest part of me is sad to see milo get so big so fast....... i'm so incredibly in love with him at every single stage. just when lorin and i think our hearts couldn't possibly get any bigger....... they do! i know i'm speaking as if i'm the only mother to have realized this... but seriously babies are AMAZING!
